RNE's technology edge lies in its acquisitions of global deep-tech firms — including Ambri (liquid metal batteries), Faradion (sodium-ion batteries), NexWafe (kerfless monocrystalline silicon wafers), and Stiesdal (electrolysers). This gives it proprietary next-generation cell chemistry, wafer manufacturing, and hydrogen production technology, enabling cost-competitive, India-manufactured clean energy products.
RNE is developing a gigascale Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex at Jamnagar, Gujarat, targeting multi-GW scale across solar modules, hydrogen electrolysers, fuel cells, and battery storage. The integrated campus aims to be among the largest green energy manufacturing clusters globally once fully operationalised.
Domestically, RNE targets India's accelerating renewable capacity addition and captive industrial decarbonisation demand, backed by Reliance's unmatched distribution reach. Globally, it eyes green hydrogen export markets in Europe and Japan, with technology subsidiaries providing entry points into US and European clean energy supply chains.
RNE's giga complex is designed around highly automated production lines for solar cells, electrolysers, and battery modules, minimising per-unit labour cost at scale. Its acquired technology platforms — NexWafe's epitaxial wafer process and Faradion's cell chemistry — embed manufacturing intelligence from design stage. Digital process control and AI-driven quality systems are central to its cost-reduction roadmap.
RNE is India's most capitalised clean energy manufacturing bet, backed by Reliance's balance sheet strength. While still in scale-up phase versus established global peers, its vertically integrated technology portfolio and Jamnagar campus scope position it as a potential top-tier global green energy manufacturer within this decade.
